Win an $8100AUD original painting by Australian artist, Narjia Brownlie
And donate to charity, Good Shepherd at the same time
Happy Monday to you all!
We’re 11 days into December. I think the general consensus from everyone around me is we’re all just trying to survive and our eyes are most definitely on the prize of Christmas break and the promise of incoming holidays. So yeah, bring that on!!
I’ve had a pretty chaotic last few weeks. All good stuff, just #bookedandbusy things! Last week was a super special one for me. Apologies as I was MIA from my usual Mid-Week Quickie on Wednesday as I was deep in the midst of deadlines, the TikTok awards and preparation for my launch event at Rainbow Studios with artist, Narjia Brownlie on Friday night!
Narjia and I hosted the opening of her first ever Sydney exhibit and it also coincided with the launch of our project, Petals x Ali Whittle. (More on that here). It was one of the most special weekends, celebrating Narjia’s beautiful work with family and friends. My mum and stepdad flew up to Sydney (they live in Victoria) for it, Narjia and her divine sister, Tiarne also stayed at my home throughout the weekend. It was a full house and a busy time but one weekend we’ll cherish forever.
It was also a lovely moment to champion the bigger cause of our collaboration. The general gist of the project (if you missed me talking about it a few weeks ago) is that Narjia has painted an original work inspired by me. I got to influence the colour palette, and - surprise, surprise - I love it so much. But instead of this work being available to purchase, it’s available to win!
To enter our competition and win this original (valued at $8100 AUD), you can buy a ticket for $20 here (you can enter as many times as you like) and 100% of the ticket sales will go directly to charity, Good Shepherd, who assist women and children in crisis. Anyone, anywhere can enter. The winner will be announced January 9, 2024.
Alternatively, you can buy the print version of our work - it comes in a variety of sizes and a portion of the proceeds from those sales will also go to Good Shepherd.
Over the weekend one of Narjia’s work really stood out to me and I couldn’t help myself and bought it (on the right) <3 - it’s a Christmas present for my husband, Angus!
Here’s a few more of my favourite pieces from Narjia, that will likely get snapped up asap - so if you need a last minute holiday gift, the time is now! Alternatively, Narjia also works on commissioned pieces - so if that’s something you’re keen on, more info about that here.
Thank you from both of us to everyone who came, everyone who purchased Narjia’s work and to everyone who has bought a ticket so far. We’ve been blown away by the response. We can’t wait to donate the full amount of ticket sales and proceeds to Good Shepherd after January 9! And we’re so excited to see who will win the Petals x Ali Whittle original painting.
And thank you to Narjia for including me on this journey. Being apart of this important and meaningful initiative has been a huge highlight to my year.
I’ll be back this Wednesday with my usual Mid-Week Quickie (plus a huge gift guide is coming soon), in the meantime let me know if you buy any of Narjia’s work or enter our competition! <3
More Smooth Brain Thoughts soon,
Ali xx
